Choosing a photo for a personalized book
You do not need a professional photo shoot. Choose a photo with a clear view of your child’s face, looking the way you know them in everyday life.
Start with the face
Choose a front-facing photo or a slight turn of the head. The eyes, nose, mouth and hairline should be visible. Sunglasses, a large hat, a hand over the face or a deep shadow hide details needed for the illustrated character.
Light and image quality
A photo near a window is often clearer than one taken in a dark room. Check that the eyes are in focus. Upload the original file if available, rather than a screenshot from a chat. Avoid filters that change facial features.
One child in the frame
Make it clear who the main character will be. Avoid group photos or another person in front of the child. The background does not need to be special: the child’s appearance is what matters for the illustration.
An illustration based on the photo
Spomencho uses the photo to create an illustrated character. The sample characters in the catalogue show the style of each story, not a preview of your completed order. The plot is already written; the name, character and dedication are personalized. The books themselves are in Bulgarian.
Before submitting
Make sure you have the right to provide the photo. Check the selected file, name and dedication before placing the order. There is no separate character-approval stage. If you spot a mistake afterward, contact info@spomencho.com immediately with your order number.
Choosing between two photos
Choose the clearer face over the prettier background. If neither photo shows the face well, take a new one in natural light. For questions before ordering, call +359 883 350 035. The privacy page explains how uploaded photos are used and retained.
